Carbon Reduction

An Award-Winning Carbon Offset Project Developer

While DPC specializes in reclaiming refrigerants for reuse, there are some refrigerant gases that are considered ozone depleting substances (ODS); ODS, if not properly contained, has been shown to deplete the ozone layer and are widely used in refrigerators, air conditioners, fire extinguishers, and as solvents for cleaning. Captured ODS can be destroyed, following strict guidelines, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, generate offset credits, and ultimately prevent ODS from being improperly vented into the atmosphere.

DPC is one of the nation’s largest carbon offset project operators, developing ODS projects since 2010. By administering the destruction of ODS, such as R-114, DPC creates carbon offset credits and actively participates in cap-and-trade programs. In fact, DPC sells credits to some of the world’s largest energy and trading companies. For 2014, DPC was named “Project Developer of the Year” by the Climate Action Reserve, the premier carbon offset registry for the North American carbon market.

Due to the most advanced blending and fractionation technology, DPC will pay you top dollar for your R-11, R-12, R-500, R-502, R-113, R-114, or R-115.

To date, we have reduced/destroyed more than one million tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to:
